The init.hook only gets run the very first time fvwm2 is started. If
you select "restart" from the fvwm2 menu, the init.hook won't be
activated. The init-restart.hook gets run both the first time fvwm2
is started, and every time is it restarted.
So, programs like unclutter (which will survive fvwm2 restarting) you
probably want to run from init.hook, but modules (which die when fvwm2
restarts) you want in init-restart.hook.
Please let me know how you get on, and I'll close the bug report when
your happy.
Austin

I nearly never restart my fvwm, if you suspect this is the cause.
I'm not happy, because I have to keep unclutter and FvwmAuto
in .fvwm2rc instead of init.hook and init-restart.hook.
And if not for this problem and the one about Pager,
I wouldn't have my own .fvwm2rc at all,
which would be ideologically perfect, wouldn't it?
Did you try to put unclutter and FvwmAuto into your init.hook?
If it works for you I'll doublecheck again at home,
but I'm afraid it just doesn't work.
Cheers,
Mikolaj
