Subject: dpkg: bashism in Packaging Manual
Date: Sun, 9 Nov 1997 21:19:23 -0500 (EST)
Package: dpkg
Version: 1.4.0.19

The Debian Packaging Manual says:

    12.2.4.1 If your package doesn't provide a shared library

   Put a call to dpkg-shlibs into your debian/rules file. If your package
   contains only binaries (e.g. no scripts) use:
dpkg-shlibdeps debian/tmp/usr/{bin,sbin}/*

The last line could be changed to:

dpkg-shlibdeps debian/tmp/usr/bin/* debian/tmp/usr/sbin/*

to eliminate the bashism

-- System Information
Debian Release: 1.3
Kernel Version: Linux vanzandt 2.0.29 #3 Sun Jul 6 11:15:58 EDT 1997 i586 unknown

Versions of the packages dpkg depends on:
libc6	Version: 2.0.4-1
libg++272	Version: 2.7.2.5-2
ncurses3.4	Version: 1.9.9g-3

Bug reassigned from package `dpkg' to `packaging-manual'. Request was from Christian Schwarz <schwarz@monet.m.isar.de> to control@bugs.debian.org. (full text, mbox, link).
