Subject: dpkg: found core in /var/lib/dpkg/methods/ftp/ after dselect upgrade
Date: Thu, 11 Dec 1997 00:07:17 -0800
Package: dpkg
Version: 1.4.0.19

I found a core file in "/var/lib/dpkg/methods/ftp/" after doing a dselect upgrade.
Here's what `where' shows, hope this helps. I've no idea what caused it... perhaps
a corrupt .deb? When the files got scanned, it said that lesstifg-dbg (I cannot find
it now, I think it got removed.) was corrupt.

I'll hold onto the core file for you for a few days just in case there's anything
useful you can get from it. Please let me know if I can just delete it.

Core was generated by `dpkg -iGREOB debian'.
Program terminated with signal 11, Segmentation fault.

There is no point in keeping this old unreproducible bug
report around six years after it was filed with no responses
to the request for more information.
