Subject: dpkg trashes installation
Date: Tue, 16 Dec 1997 19:57:19 +0100 (CET)
Package: dpkg
Version: 1.4.0.19

Consider: Package c depends on b and b depends on a and all tree are from
the base installation.

Now I upgrade b, but b wants a newer version of a and I do not have one.
Instead of leaving b alone, dpkg overwrites b and leaves it unusable !
So c does not work anymore, too !
This is especially bad, if c is something important like dselect.
And I cannot downgrade b, because it came from the base archive.

So all I could do is to wait, until a was updated and fetch this from net.
