I haven't used dselect in a while, but if I remember correctly, bug #1642
has been fixed; that is, dselect says "package foo depends on package bar;
however, package bar is not available".

If you think the bug has been fixed, please close it...

it does now the Right Think.

Analyse: dselect recursive dependency resolution doesn't do the right thing.
Explanation:
 Raul says that dselect's recursive dependency resolution doesn't work if
 recommended packages aren't available.
Strategy:
 As dselect spits out messages about his today, this bug report can be
 closed.
