I just installed debian from leo.org using ftp. It worked surprisingly
well, congratulations to your fine work. 

There was one minor problem: The large files, like for Emacs, came in
many pieces, and I had to go through the installation cycle many
times, until there were no more `partial files'. 

An automatic loop,
which gets files until they are complete, or until no new information
can be obtained from the ftp-server would simplify life.

This bug was lost in dpkg's bug page. It recently got reassigned to
dpkg-ftp where it really belongs.

However, since that bug was filled, dpkg-ftp has gone through many
updates that have vastly improved the usability of dpkg-ftp. So i'm
closing the bug.

If you still encounter problems with the latest dpkg-ftp, please submit
a new bug.
