Subject: dpkg: dpkg -s is too slow
Date: Sun, 24 May 1998 11:30:40 -0300 (ART)
Package: dpkg
Version: 1.4.0.22

dpkg unnecessarily reads /var/lib/dpkg/available when given the `-s'
option. In my system is a 1.3 Mb file and takes a while to do this.

Bug reassigned from package `dpkg' to `dpkg-iwj'. Request was from Ben Collins <bcollins@debian.org> to control@bugs.debian.org. (full text, mbox, link).
