New bug report received and forwarded to list.

Your message didn't have a Package: line at the start (in the pseudo-header following the real mail header), or didn't have a pseudo-header at all.

This makes it much harder for us to categorise and deal with your problem report; please ensure that you say which package(s) and version(s) the problem is with next time. Some time in the future the problem reports system may start rejecting such messages.

There are a number of `pseudo-packages' which you can quote in the Package line in case your report does not concern a particular Debian software package: (base) General bugs in the base system. (bootdisk) Bugs in the bootdisk. (rootdisk) Bugs in the rootdisk. (debian-bugs) The bug tracking system, debian-bugs@pixar.com. (ftp.debian.org) Problems with the FTP site. (www.debian.org) Problems with the WWW site. (manual) Bugs in the manual. (project) Problems related to Project administration (e.g., that the Guidelines are out of date). (general) General problems (e.g., that many manpages are mode 755). Please include the ( ) brackets, eg `Package: (debian-bugs)'

Please tell me the error message. I haven't a hope of figuring out
what's going wrong otherwise.

If you could demonstrate the bug while running dselect inside `script'
that would be ideal. gzip and uuencode the `typescript' file and
mail it to me.

Ian.

Since the reporter of this old bug hasn't said anything, I guess the bug
doesn't exist anymore. So please close the bug...

Hello, Heiko.

You reported the following bugs long time ago. Have you ever noticed them in
the last two years or so? I suggest that this report can be closed, but if
you can give additional information how to reproduce this, it has to be
investigated. Thanks,
Marcus

============================================================================
A short description of the bugs I encountered:
----------
        o the first try to (setup modules or configure the kernel?)
          returned: /target/lib/modules: no such file or directory

        o repeating the action succeeded (i escaped to shell after
          the first failure and saw, there IS a /target/lib/modules file
          or directory ...

----------
        o After selecting the access method (CDROM) and selecting
          packages to be installed dselect displayed:

          can't install from /stable/binary (or something similar)
          since dpkg -iGROEB /stable/binary returned an error
                             ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
          If I mount the CD manually and then manually do
          dpgk -iGROEB /where/the/cd/is/mounted
          all is ok.  (or if I select `already mounted filesystem' as
          the access method)
Heiko,
thanks for your reply. You forgot to CC the BTS, so I did it, hope that's
okay for you.
