Package: wvdial
Version: 1.20
At the "do?" prompt for one of my ISPs, wvdial should send "ppp" and
login later. At any rate it's guess to send `account' at that propmt
is silly. Setting "Stupid Mode" did not help. And "Default Reply"
did not help either. Here is a transcript of the misbehavior:
cjf@syntropy:~$ wvdial netaxs 7 loud

--> Auto Reconnect will be attempted in 5 seconds

And it will never work so I stop it.
Moreover, after connecting ls -l /dev/ttyS2 shows
crw-r----- 1 root dialout 4, 66 Feb 19 00:03 /dev/ttyS2
So I need to "chmod g+w /dev/ttyS2" if I kill wvdial at the wrong time. I
haven't figured out excatly when the permissions are lost. But it happened
several times tonight.

Message #10 received at 33590-done@bugs.debian.org (full text, mbox, reply):
Hi,
Your connection problem should be fixed in the latest version of wvdial, and
the ttyS2 permissions problem is actually a brokenness in pppd that has
already been reported.
Thanks,
Avery
