Subject: dpkg and kernel-* package names
Date: Sat, 13 Jul 1996 09:30:31 -0700 (PDT)
PACKAGE: dpkg
VERSION: 1.2.6

Perhaps this is a package-naming problem in the kernel-*
packages, or a dpkg problem. I'm not sure which. In
any case, the following output from "dpkg --list"
seems confusing:

ii kernel-headers- 2.0.0-0 Linux kernel headers.
ii kernel-image-2. 2.0.0-0 Linux kernel binary image.

All that's happened here is that the package names (which include the
version numbers) have been truncated.

Doing something different about this is on my work list.

Ian.

IMHO, these are not worthy of normal status, but are really wishlist items.
