Package: boot-floppies
Version: N/A; reported 2000-04-09
Severity: grave
With the latest potato boot-floppies, upon attempting to configure PCMCIA
support I get a spew of 'unresolved symbol' reports from cardmgr.
When I shell out and do 'depmod -a /target' I get a screenful of messages
that look like this:
depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in /target/lib/modules/2.2.14/pcmcia/*
I have successfully installed potato on this same notebook using the
previous version of the boot-floppies. Too bad someone threw them out :(.

What kernel flavor were you using? (in which directory did you copy the
.bin's to make your floppy images?)

This sounds remarkably similar to #61544 (and the report I sent to
debian-boot last week). I used the 2.2.9 images-1.44 images; also
still there with the 2.2.11 2000/04/06 images I downloaded from New
Zealand last week.

reassign 62100 pcmcia-modules-2.2.14
thanks
It's pretty clear that this is a bug in *some* flavor of the
pcmcia-modules package.
Mr Bug Submitter, please answer Randolph's query on which flavor (if
any) you were using of the boot-floppies.
