Package: dpkg
Version: 1.4.0.7
Note: This bug is *not* against dpkg 1.4.0.7; I saw this bug some time
ago but did not report it then. (Sorry!)
When I was installing a new system, I wanted to install gv and
gs-aladdin. Using dselect (with the nfs access method), I selected
both of these packages (along with many others), and told it to
"Install". dselect ran dpkg on the "stable" directory; when it tried
to configure gv, it failed, because one of its dependencies was
missing. This made dpkg return an error code to dselect, which
(therefore) did not run dpkg on the "non-free" directory to install
gs-aladdin. I had to install gs-aladdin by hand to continue.
-- System Information

Sorry about the timewarp reply to this bug report. Were you using
dpkg-ftp ?
Ian.

Sorry about the timewarp reply to this question :-)
No; as noted above, I was using NFS.
