Package: dpkg

When a source package has a sufficient number of binary packages, the
Binary: line in the .dsc file becomes long enough to trigger PGP's
non-ASCII detector. This causes PGP to output just the signature to
the output file, which causes dpkg-genchanges to fail.

Although this is primarily a bug in PGP (what isn't),
dpkg-buildpackage will probably have to somehow be adjusted to cope
somehow, and should do a better job of checking the erorr status of
the signing operation in any case.

Bug reassigned from package `dpkg' to `pgp'. Request was from Wichert Akkerman <wichert@cs.leidenuniv.nl> to control@bugs.debian.org. (full text, mbox, link).

Hi. This bug got reassigned to pgp, which I maintain. I wonder
if it is still current:

I've never seen this occur, even with packages with very long Binary:
lines. I can find only one place in PGP that attempts to distinguish
between text and binary files, and it uses a frequency count. It
does not check line length.

Can you give an indication of what sort of Binary: line you were dealing with?

As I said in my previous mail about this bug, I have never seen this
problem occur, and the code in PGP that distinguishes between text
and binary files is not sensitive to line lengths. So I have reason
to believe that this bug no longer exists.
