I got exactly the same error so I put lynx-ssl on hold (just wanted to
file a bug with severity grave ;)). I don't really know what's going on
though. 

Hmm, trying to install it again, this line from the new preinst fails:

pulsar:~# dpkg-divert --package lynx-ssl --remove --rename \
    --divert /usr/man/man1/lynx.nossl.1.gz /usr/man/man1/lynx.1.gz

Does this help? At least I agree it is release critical. I did not mess with
neither lynx nor lynx-ssl. Just doing the usual upgrade...
