panic: main: no root node!

Hi,

I had been meaning to spend the time to get Hurd setup on one of my
pc's so I could start tinkering with it. So, early this morning I started.

Most of the time was spent figuring out GRUB...once I figured out the basics
on that I continued with following the instructions for installing Hurd.

Both the tar method and the cross-install method gives me the same results.
I just don't know if it's me or something else. Can someone point me in
the right direction?

The error I get is basically this

Partition check (DOS partitions):
 hd0: hd0s1 hd0s2 hd0s3 hd0s4
ext2fs: hd0s1: panic: main: no root node!

and that's it.

System setup:

(this is a laptop)
/dev/hda1 = for hurd, roughly 800megs
/dev/hda2 = Linux root partition
/dev/hda3 = Linux swap
/dev/hda4 = Windows NT

another thing, I am dumb when it comes to hardware..and I haven't had to
worry about address's or anything like that before. How do I figure out
what the partition addresses are? I want to be able to setup grub to boot
my NT partition but all the docs are designed with windows being on the
first partition where as I have it on the 4th. Any help with this would be
appreciated as well.

Thanks!

Ivan
