suggestions for the new maintainer's guide

I would like to make 2 suggestions for the new maintainer's guide.

1) In section 6.3 (http://www.debian.org/doc/maint-guide/ch-build.en.html )
when you are introducing the debuild command, I think it would be nice to
provide a brief overview of that command. It should also specify the
difference between debuild and other commands introduced before (Ex:-
dpkg-buildpackage). Instead of

You can automate package build process further with debuild command. See
debuild(1).

I propose

You can automate package build process further with debuild command. The
debuild command runs dpkg-buildpackage, then runs linda and/or lintian on
the .changes file created, and then signs the .changes and/or .dsc file
using debsign. For more details, see debuild(1).

I am not bent on upon the above wording. But I think one or two sentences of
what debuild does and when it is appropriate to use instead of
dpkg-buildpackage would be much more helpful.

2) It would be nice if the maint-guide has a section on gpg and explains how
to sign the package a bit clearly than just referring to their man pages.
