Debian non-US-Pakete

Vor der Veröffentlichung von Debian 3.1 erlegten Gesetze der Vereinigten Staaten Grenzen auf den Export von bestimmten Verteidigungs-Artikeln, worunter unglücklicherweise auch einige Arten kryptographischer Software fielen. PGP und SSH fielen unter anderem in diese Kategorie. Es war allerdings legal, diese Software in die USA zu importieren.

Um zu vermeiden, dass irgendjemand unnötige Risiken auf sich nahm, waren einige Pakete von Debian nur von einer Site in Leiden, Den Niederlanden, verfügbar, bis Debian 3.1 herauskam, das aufgrund rechtlicher Änderungen in den Gesetzen der Vereinigten Staaten diese Software enthielt.

Sie sollten das Archiv non-US nicht benötigen, es sei denn, Sie verwenden eine Version von Debian vor 3.1.

Um diese Pakete mit APT zu verwenden, können Sie die folgenden Zeilen zu Ihrer Datei sources.list hinzufügen:

Debian non-US Spiegel-Sites

Normalerweise befinden sich Spiegel von debian-non-US außerhalb der USA. Falls Sie sich innerhalb der USA befinden, sollten sie bei der US-Regierung angemeldet sein.
