Debian non-US パッケージ
Debian 3.1 より前のリリースでは、 アメリカの法律が一部の防衛物品の輸出に制限を設けていました。 残念ながらその中に何種類か暗号ソフトウェアが含まれていました。特に PGP と SSH、その他がこの分類に該当しました。 逆にこういったソフトウェアのアメリカへの輸入は合法でした。
誰も不必要に法的なリスクを冒さずに済むように、Debian パッケージの一部は Debian 3.1 のリリースまでオランダのライデンにあるサイトからのみ入手可能でした。 Debian 3.1 ではこのソフトウェアを盛り込んでいます。 アメリカの法律の変更に感謝します。
Debian 3.1 以前のバージョンの Debian を使っているのでない限り non-US アーカイブは必要ありません。
