Ein Pufferüberlauf wurde im Socks-5 Proxy-Code von XChat entdeckt, einem IRC-Client für X ähnlich zu AmIRC. Dies erlaubt es einem Angreifer, beliebigen Code auf dem Rechner des Benutzers auszuführen.
Für die stable Distribution (Woody) wurde dieses Problem in Version 1.8.9-0woody3 behoben.
Für die unstable Distribution (Sid) wurde dieses Problem in Version 2.0.8-1 behoben.
Wir empfehlen Ihnen, Ihr xchat-Paket und verwandte Pakete zu aktualisieren.
