There are, but they are glibc 2.0. alpha*-*-linux-gnu uses a soname
of libc.so.6.1 for historical reasons, the pre-5.x releases of
RedHat/alpha were based on a glibc2 snapshot (version 1.99) calling
itself libc.so.6, which was not compatible with the final releases of
glibc 2.0.x.
