This package should be safe to migrate to unstable, though, it certainly wouldn't hurt to test it in experimental for a bit.
Unfortunately, the motherboard on my Debian workstation seems to be dying, so I won't be able to help much this week. Straight from that grub bug to a hardware failure. :(
