(alpha only) Package im bug: imget (perl script) unable to write messages to mailbox

As you suggest it really seems to be a perl problem:
the file /usr/lib/perl5/alpha-linux/5.004/sys/syscall.ph is obviously wrong
it has the same contents than
/usr/lib/perl5/i386-linux/5.004/sys/syscall.ph
whereas the system call numbering is completely different between
alpha and i386.

Does any perl expert know how this file is generated, and is willing
to try to rebuild perl?
