Yes, Bill and Witold have set up build daemons and we have communicated with the debian-ports maintainer (off list) and hopefully building of alpha specific packages will start soon.
I suspect the updates I'm currently seeing were available prior to the old build daemons being shutdown...
Nae, just produced as a side-effect of build daemons of other architectures methinks.
