The squid3 package in lenny-backports is quite stale (3.0.STABLE19-1~bpo50+1 vs. 3.1.3-2 in squeeze) and should be updated. Personally, I'm interested the most in its IPv6 support. I've built a few earlier versions of this package (then in Debian Experimental) in the past, and it was as simple as adding a debian/changelog entry. -- FSF associate member #7257
