debhelper/9.20160403~bpo8+1 is now in backports
Hi dear backports,
We now have debhelper/9.20160403~bpo8+1 in backports[1], which might
make your backporting a little bit easier. One "minor" caveat to keep
in mind:
* It does *not* create automatic dbgsym as it requires a newer version
of dpkg-dev (or some selected patches backported).
* It silently accepts all the dbgsym-related options (all of which are
effectively ignored) though, so you can now do without the "dh_strip"
work arounds (assuming you do not mind the missing dbg symbols).
This version of debhelper also have the "open beta" version of compat 10
(in case you have been holding off on that due to backports).
Enjoy,
~Niels
