Debian stable releases provide (best-effort) security support, for the
life of the stable release. When an upstream drops security support, we
either continue security support without them, or (rarely) replace them
with a newer version / remove them. For most (small) upstream projects
we get very little security support upstream, anyway.

PHP is obviously bigger and an exception, there. But I have every
expectation that we'll continue to provide security support for it.
