Yes, I use that dialog.

It is displayed in the next dialog (partition overview screen).

I wasn't aware of that concept, that the value I enter gets divided into
several volume groups (here: root and swap).
But that of course makes sense. 
(I don't use LVM usually, so no experience with it; I just did a test 
regarding to bug#684128 "src:debian-installer: allow use of binary units in
disk partitioner").
