Hm, well, I'm not aware of anything currently in the policy manual which
violates the FHS, so I would say that ATM Debian is supposed to be strictly
FHS-compliant.

So, it looks like the solution is to either: a) move to /usr/lib/freebsd or b)
file a bug against debian-policy.
