Thanks for the update, and yes, I am still interested !

I've been on Fedora 1 since RedHat droped us 'home' users.

FC2 would not install for me, so I tried Deb3.0...

I have since found that Deb will install, but I'm torn between Debian
and CentOS - as I am more familiar with the RedHat style of startup
scripts...

One day I'll get Debian going, I'm sure...

Debian 3.0 is now obsolete, so I'm closing this bug report.

The good news is that the installer changed dramatically for Debian 3.1.
Please try installing Debian 3.1 if you're still interested (3 years later!).
If it doesn't work, you can file a bug report against 'installation-reports'.
