其实你说的这个问题，在我翻译文档的时候经常遇到。尤其是一些技术性文档，更是如此。我的意见是：对于技术性文档很有必要保留英文不翻译，翻过来反而不像样。而对于给普通用户看的东西，尽管有时直译或意译都不好，但还是尽可能地翻过来。因为对于普通用户来讲，看到任何一个英文单词都是非常难受的。技术性文档很少有普通用户会去看的;-)
这是我个人的看法！主要是从别人的翻译中看来的。如机械工业出版社翻译的几本外文原版书就非常不错，The C programming 可以说是经典中的经典，原书英文版写得好，中文翻译也不赖！全书除必要的地方外都尽可能得翻译成中文了，佩服译者的水平啊！技术文档都翻得那么好。
