The reason I thought it didn't was that when I looked at
http://bugs.debian.org/450859 and enabled "useless messages" I didn't
see any message about anything having been sent to the maintainers of
gnome-volume-manager (the new package). If you're saying such a mail
went out anyway I'm happy with that.
