Maybe my memory fooled me when I believed to remember that dpkg
complained about not having perl when I installed apt 0.3.13 over
slink's default apt last night on a new system. I might have that
confused with kernel-package, debhelper or dpkg-dev, all of which
depend on perl but are not necessary on my target box.
