No, dpkg ignores the version on virtual packages (Provides). It would a
simple fix to dpkg to "let" it work with versioned virtual packages (it was
forced to ignore them, as opposed to not having the capability at all).
However, Wichert and I have not determined what ill affects would incur by
letting it do that.
