I've had all kinds of strange problems with gnome-icu, but I am not a
heavy user of it and do not know it well. For example, I have a laptop
which has a wired serial port which appears as ttyS0 and an IR port which
appears as ttyS1. If I insert a PCMCIA modem card, that appears as ttyS2.
So far, so good.
Now, when running through the PCMCIA landline modem, I am using ttyS2.
When running through a wireless modem, my cellular telephone plugs into
ttyS0 and acts like a Hayes-compatible modem. If I run gnome-icu when my
cellular telephone is not plugged into ttyS0 and my PCMCIA modem card is
plugged in as ttyS2, gnome-icu will segfault. Why? I have no idea.
