neither is crapping on with stupidly pedantic "points" about words that
nobody gives a damn about.

it's just a distraction and a way of avoiding giving answer to any of
the points that have been made. so i called him on it. i doubt if it
will prevent it from recurring, but there's always a faint chance.


btw, i did not lob an insult at john. if i had wanted to insult him,
i would be a *lot* less subtle about it than accusing him of being
excessively pedantic.
