RE: Debian Critical Mass

My opinion:
Don't worry about it. The process is working well enough. Debian is a great
"product" and it's update frequency is, for most of the real world, not an
issue. It seems to be primarily Debian hobbyists who fret endlessly about
more frequent updates. Most of these guys will stop running potato as soon
as its released anyway (if they haven't already) and start fretting about
woody.

In the OS distribution industry Debian's release frequency is not
substandard. Anyone who would complain about the release frequency of a
free, high quality OS distribution will probably complain and fret anyway
about something regardless of what happens.

The developers are doing a fine job, in my opinion.
