The licence is not identical to the GPL, but is effectively the same.
There are no restrictions on use other than retaining the copyright
notice in all copies and marking in the source the name of the
amending organisation.
I am currently installing Potato on a Dell Inspiron-3800 (X up and
running, TeX installed, new kernel yet to be compiled) and then
upgrading my desktop slink system to potato. I shall then port Ctrans
to potato which involves checking all the C routines and header files
used. About a week's work, I should think. The book
"Programming Algol 68 Made Easy"
which has been reformatted to be read on-line, is nearly ready (678
pages excluding the bibliography and the title page).
My third attempt to understand the debhelper programs is resulting in
some headway. So a Debian package is likely sometime during August,
subject to other commitments (a talk on Lilypond in early September
in Esperanto).
