One of the main links between Alternet/UUNET and MCI has been experiencing
40% packet loss for weeks. Both organizations are aware of it and
working on it, but they won't say when it will be solved. Though I
did see one MCI engineer post a ping with 0% packet loss on the NANOG list,
which might indicate that it is now solved or almost solved.

They are most probably already aware of it (I would be).

BTW, 300 MB disk for www.debian.org isn't enough, I think. With the
bug reposts and list archives, you need a bit more:

$ df
Filesystem         1024-blocks  Used Available Capacity Mounted on

(This is www.nl.debian.org)
