I NEED g++ for school work. IS the egcs one as stable as the plain gcc
one?? And what about those of us NOT on pentiums??? Do we really want
to turn egcs into the default g++??
Try not to be so hysterical, first of all. The egcs g++ is much
better than the 2.7.x g++; it's essentially the same as the 2.8.x g++,
IIRC. And the egcs optimizations apply to non-Pentium processors;
besides, the processor can be set with -m486, -mpentium, etc.
