I'm not sure about this. We had a package swig_1.1.b5.p2-1 in  
project/experimental. Now I have upload 1.5p5-1 to hamm/devel. 1.5p5-1  
< 1.5.b5.p2-1, but I was told that project/experimental doesn't count  
for that. If possible, I'd not use an epoch. Do I have to ?

    You probably need an epoch or some sort of rearrangement of the
    version number to make dpkg think that the new upstream version is
    an upgrade.
