It uses X resources, it should use the standard colors (mono) unless
the "customization" X resource is set.
I always run it mono here since most of my users consider the
technicolor fruit-salad dialog boxes "hideous"... :)

Yes, xmcd seems to do a good job of this.

We certainly don't, that's why I do *one* install of packages, and
then either 'tar' or 'dd' to copy it to other machines.

I would be in heaven if I could automate my installs (maintaining
dozens of linux boxes with hundreds of users on 10 hr/wk is a bit of a
challenge)
