Alas, I have found lprng to be sorely incompatible with traditional
lpr (in this case, SunOS 4.1.3, and for that matter Debian 1.3).  And
don't tell me about compatibility fields in /etc/printcap or setuid
bits, trust me, me and the lprng mailing list went back and forth for
~100 emails, with the final suggestion being "install lprng on all
your machines", which isn't exactly what I would call compatibility.
