Email usually gives people time to check their spelling, grammar, and
ideas before sending them. I see nothing wrong with this.

While no credible argument has been tendered for eliminating IRC,
please be considerate of the fact that some of us have many other
things in our lives besides Debian. All of these activities are
important to us. We don't need to rank them. Speaking for myself, I
don't have time to chat on IRC. I don't even have enough time for the
megabytes of email I receive. I'm saving these long election threads
until the nominations are closed and we can square the corners for
debate. Then, I will expect to see well thought and well written
statements by the candidates over a field of topics the electorate
chooses.
