You fail to see that the freeze would be shortened if it were handled
correctly. Which means your updates would not be held off long.

Then don't help. But to be perfectly honest, why should an entire fork for
an unstable be done just because some developers are bored and don't want
to assist with the rest of the project? I think your statement sounds
rather selfish. I seriously doubt that the feature is more important than
making the current frozen dist the best it can be.
