i don't see a problem with it, but it's crucially important it not be the
default kernel. also, slap a *HUGE* warning sign. 2.2.1 is pretty buggy.
anything >=2.2.4ac1 is not as bad.
also, please note 2.2 is not for serious production use on machines with large
amounts of ram. it has serious memory fragmentation problems that won't be
fixed until 2.3
