/usr/doc/debian-policy> zcat policy.text.gz

                           Debian Policy Manual
                           --------------------

                   Ian Jackson <ijackson@gnu.ai.mit.edu>
                  Christian Schwarz <schwarz@debian.org>
               revised: David A. Morris <bweaver@debian.org>
The Debian Policy mailing List <debian-policy@lists.debian.org>

                        version 2.5.0.0, 1998-10-30

...

This should mean a control file line

Standards-Version: 2.5.0.0

But this ands also in:

E: xteddy source: newer-standards-version 2.5.0.0

(This was the reason why I tried 2.6.0.0 ... just a guess ...)
Is this a lintian bug??

Kind regards

        Andreas.
