You are joking, I was serious. ed is an editor, what you named are powerful
unix tools. An experienced user can use ed instead ae, if we only have ae
and no other decent editor.

joe doesn't work on the Hurd, I have no time to fix it -> I can't live with
joe though this is the editor I use most often under Linux.
