I personally enjoy spending time writing code to contribute to Debian.
However, I am discouraged by Debian's apparent lack of progress (as a
whole), and suggest that maybe this could be optimized.
I share your sentiment about over-emphasizing politics; in fact I believe I
have posted similar messages in the past. But what are we to do? Just close
bugs in our spare time and hope others do the same? I suppose that's the
best real solution, since Debian thrives solely on this type of demand work.
