Package: general Version: N/A; reported 2002-03-27 Severity: normal Configuring http/ftp proxies for a host is too complicated. There are too many places where the administrator (or user) needs to enter the proxy configuration. At system install time, you are prompted for the proxy settings, but these settings appear to only be used by apt. It would be nice if there were a global proxy configuration, which every package would use. Incidentally, here is a list of the packages that had to be configured by hand: wget-ssl reportbug konqueror mozilla-browser -- System Information Debian Release: 3.0 Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux godot 2.4.18-586tsc #2 Wed Mar 20 20:18:44 EST 2002 i586 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C
