Package: unknown Severity: wishlist It would be great if Debian Linux had keyboard acceleration. This would mean that the longer one holds a key down, the faster it would repeat. It would help a lot with things such as holding down the Backspace key for a long time. This feature ideally would work both in console mode and in X. The acceleration rate would be configurable in the KDE Control Center. Regards, Jason Spiro -- Jason Spiro: computer consulting with a smile. Hi, after some discussion on #debian-devel I decided to close this bugreport, as it's actually not useful (to have this feature implemented). If pressing a key accellerates the repeat, how would you know how long to press the key? Also, if you want to delete multiple lines/words of text, there are smarter ways to do it. (Be it in your shell or in an editor.) But if you really want this feature, please go ahead and file this bug upstream (either in your favorite desktop environment or kernel), that feature will then automatically be part of Debian (once+if its implemented) :-) regards, HolgerAttachment: pgpDNtJr4JaVB.pgp
